zee-tv-new-logo Daily soap queen Ekta Kapoor is coming out with a new show Jodha Akbar on Zee TV. The serial is inspired by the real life story of Jodha Bai and Akbar which is one of the most dramatic and unforgettable love story of Indian Ancient History.

As this story is already portrayed on Big Screen by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hritik Roshan, it will be a big challenge to rebuilt the same magic again. Ekta was very particular about the starcast of the show from the beginning, she travelled and auditioned Nationwide to find the right characters.

jodha-akbar Rajat Tokas is finalised to play the role of Mughal Emperor, Akbar. He was last seen in Balaji`s Show Tere Liye. This role would be the most challenging opportunity for him to depict on screen. Rajat carries both innocence and maturity needed for this role. He is working really hard to look apt for this character by focusing on his body fitness and by sharping Martial Art skills and Horse riding.

For the role of Jodha Bai, Paridhi Sharma is selected after 8 months of nationwide search. Paridhi is a newbie and will be playing any lead character on TV for the first time. Previously she was seen as a supporting cast in the show Ruk Jana Nahi (Star Plus). For this role both simplicity and elegance was required which comes in naturally with Paridhi .A Royal Princess look on her face also works in her favour.

Chetan Hansraj is playing the role of Adham Khan(Foster Brother of Akbar). The first schedule of shoot is completed in Jaipur and the second part is being shot in N.D Studios (Kajrat) where the movie Jodha Akbar was shot.

The show will be launched in the month of June on Zee TV (8 P M Slot).
